Below is an example of how Virtual Energy Management (VEM) delivers tangible results using data from a single HVAC unit in an office building.
On the left side of the image, you can see the energy consumption baseline when we first benchmarked the building’s energy use. A noticeable drop occurs about one-third of the way through our process. This significant reduction was achieved simply by adjusting the thermostat by just one degree. That small change made the system run about 50% more efficiently.
Further, continuous monitoring revealed that the HVAC unit was running 24/7, even outside of regular operating hours. By optimizing the schedule to run only when the building was occupied, we achieved even greater energy savings, as shown on the right side of the image
